Hi y'all. Welcome to EAT well, LIFT heavy, BE fitt–a brand I've created to help promote healthy living and wellness to those who are looking for a little more pep to their step. My name is Meg and I run the show here. This blog, along with my other social media platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter), will contain recipes, workouts, tips, motivation, and a whole lot of other beneficial information that you can hopefully take from. But, let me start with how this all formed.
I've always had a love for fitness, nutritious foods, and all things surrounding living a healthier and better lifestyle. Growing up I stayed active with soccer and many other miscellaneous activities. I was never overweight, but I was also never super fit with toned muscles all the other girls at school had. I grew jealous of the girls who didn't have those extra pounds of fat, but instead had the muscles in place of the "chub" that I had. I grew self-conscious of my body, never feeling confident standing next to my thin, fit friends. It mentally, emotionally, and physically effected me more than my 14-year old self wanted to admit. Mixed with eating healthier, and running miles on miles to lose the fat, I also turned to purging after almost every meal. This started 9th grade and it didn't stop until a little after high school graduation. It wasn't until my freshman year of college when I really started paying attention to what went into my body (minus those few too many alcoholic drinks I toxined my body with on the weekends), and focusing on bettering myself through physical fitness and a healthier mind set. The gym became my holy grail. It was where I could let the stress of school, work, family, and friends, out through my sweat. It was what I looked forward to most in my days, and each week, I planned in my busy schedule where I could possibly fit in at least 2 hours in the gym daily. Lucky for me, that "Freshman Fifteen" was never something I had to experience, and day by day I was becoming more confident not only with my body composition, but my mentality as well. Fast forward to present day, the gym and healthy living continues to bring me pounds of happiness. Through the years, I've learned what works best for me and what doesn't. As well as, what motivates me in the gym and what I like doing. It's taken years to get to where I am today. While I'm no professional in this, I do have experience, and I do have a love of helping others. That's all this is. If only just one person can take something from my postings, that'll be enough for me.
Dive in with me as I share healthy recipes, alternatives to those tasty, but not so healthy treats you like, and learn to love yourself more than you already do.
Stay fit,
Meg
